As a former Catholic and one with many family members who are currently still in the Catholic church, I am flabbergasted by this pope and his so-called “spiritual” leadership. I cannot understand why he is still entrusted with the leadership of the church! Recent remarks/actions, such as the one you shared, betray the façade that he represents Catholics or Catholic theology. Here is another dramatic departure from Catholic teaching: https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/pope-francis-stirs-controversy-with. How long will the Church in any denomination endure false teachers? I know my grandparents’ generation of devout Catholics would have revolted against this kind of doctrinal shift, and likely also my parents’ generation. Are current generations lacking devotion in addition to lacking discernment? What does it say to the unbelieving world when believers “go along to get along” instead of bearing the banner of truth?
